“Engagement season” just wrapped up and since we’re headed towards Valentine’s Day, which can also be a big day for marriage proposals, we think Sara and Eric’s Arizona engagement photos are perfectly timed. What do we especially love about this session from Elite Circle photographer Eyes 2 See Photography? Besides the gorgeous pictures themselves, we really like the couple’s modern classic style and the 2 distinct locations for the engagement photos- Sara and Eric live in New York but returned to the desert for their engagement photos because Sara grew up in Arizona and has an appreciation for the desert scenery.
The couple began their session at the Arizona Science Center where the architectural angles and textures of the buildings create a cool urban vibe
The proposal: We had a trip planned to Jamaica and Eric wanted to propose ahead of time, using the trip as an engagement celebration. He planned an elaborate night out in NYC and wanted to propose in front of an iconic NYC landmark. I broke my ring finger the day of the planned proposal and Eric had to improvise. He brought the ring with him to Jamaica a few days later and proposed under a beautiful gazebo on the water on our first night in Jamaica. Needless to say, we still got to celebrate on the trip.
Eyes 2 See Photography also captured some of that golden Arizona sunlight- now were feeling all cozy!
Ideal date night: We love going for dinner and drinks at a restaurant we’ve never tried before.
Favorite things: We love that we make each other laugh. Sara loves Eric’s kindness and sincerity and Eric loves Sara’s tenacity and warmth.
The location for Sara and Eric’s engagement photos then took a turn to South Mountain- the largest municipal park in the United States and one of the largest urban parks in North America.
Engaged couples love this location for their engagement photos because the desert landscape is unique (sometimes you’ll cross paths with a rattlesnake or gila monster!), the views are breathtaking, and there are quite a few unique buildings to explore. The rustic slab stone buildings provide an excellent juxtaposition for engagement photos (the structures are the result of the government’s efforts to put Americans back to work during the Depression).
Things got dark a took a sexy little turn…
What are you looking forward to most at your wedding? That moment when we first see each other. We plan on doing a first look, so we are excited that we will have some time alone to cherish that special moment together and then join our friends and family for the ceremony.
Why Eyes 2 See Photography for your engagement photos? They are so talented! Their work is the perfect mix of traditional and artsy, as evidenced by our amazing engagement pictures. And Nicole is so friendly it’s hard not to like her!
